Richard has a FDSc in Humanistic Counselling (Bath Spa), a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB), a Diploma in Psychotheraputic Counselling (CPCAB) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Wiltshire College.

He worked for many years as a Lecturer at Wiltshire College teaching Levels 3-5 Diploma in therapeutic counselling and is currently delivering an integrated programme of mental health training for the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) that is being delivered to NHS health care professionals across the UK who work with people with spinal injuries. Richard also runs a therapy practice, working as a counsellor with individuals. Richard brings significant experience working with a wide range of people as well as having lived experience of a spinal injury.

Richard is a practicing Buddhist and his approach is influenced by Buddhist teachings and practices relating to interconnectedness, mindfulness, basic goodness and nature.

Richard’s approach to teaching, his knowledge and experience, along with his understanding of my needs as a student have been instrumental in giving me the skills and confidence to become a counsellor.
