R.M. Sánchez-Camus (Marcelo) is an award-winning cultural strategist, consultant, and socially engaged creative practitioner with over two decades of experience delivering high-impact creative programmes across sectors. He specialises in participatory design, public engagement, and strategic development for organisations navigating social change, cultural transformation and community development.


Marcelo has worked with leading institutions including Tate Modern, BBC Radio 4, British Council, as well as numerous local authorities, housing associations, and health trusts. He is the Founding Director of Applied Live Art Studios (ALAS), a social practice studio dedicated to site-responsive and community-led creative practice.


He brings a track record of co-creating sector-defining initiatives, such as large-scale public realm projects, cultural development schemes, and social justice campaigns that centre lived experience. Marcelo’s methodology, rooted in affinitive care, his unique approach to values-driven collaboration, prioritises sustainable change and equity.
