Julie Howe
Julie began her career in book publishing working for Victor Gollancz, Random House, Penguin and HarperCollins. She has also worked in newspapers, helping launch youth and science supplements for The Telegraph, and in consumer magazines as an Art Director at Hachette Filipacchi for over ten years.
Since moving to Stroud she has chosen to concentrate her design practice on not-for-profit, public and social enterprise organisations, including Save The Children, The National Trust, Read for Good, Innovate UK, The Mango Tree, Kids Club Kampala, Creative Sustainability, Arts & Humanitites Research Council and University of Oxford.
As well as all aspects of graphic design including print media, websites and branding she has experience in putting together bid documents, copy editing, art direction and commissioning, and has a keen interest in helping organisations find their voice.
In addition to design and branding work she has run public events, including Subculture Festival, facilitated stakeholder consultations, worked with local councils to help secure transition of assets to public ownership and has been a school governor for many years.

Julie has been instrumental in developing and evolving our brand, ensuring our messaging remains up-to-date and relevant. Very quick to identify an organisation’s needs and objectives, she is proactive and constructive, can work to tight deadlines and is efficient in terms of both time and organisation, with an eye for both the detail and the bigger picture.
